The Indonesian
Ministry of Tourism building located on Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat no 17
looks different from the surrounding buildings. The environment is green and beautiful and soothing radiated from the charm of the building. The building is called Sapta Pesona building.
Sapta Pesona Building has 24 floors starting in 1992 and completed in 1994.

Sapta Pesona Pariwisata is a pillar for the development and management of tourism in Indonesia. Sapta is a language and a mean meaning seven (7) while pesona means charm and beauty.
The seven pillars of Sapta Pesona are:
- Secure
- Orderly
- Clean
- Cool
- Beautiful
- Friendly
- Memories
The meaning of each pillar in Sapta Pesona can be described as follows:
- Safe (Security) -The main factor in even before the tourists come is to ensure that the area to be visited is a safe zone. Security should be guaranteed by the state and should also be supported by the surrounding community.
- Order (Order) - Create an orderly environment for the ongoing tourism activities that are able to provide regular and effective services for tourists. Discipline has an important role in realizing order.
- Clean (Cleanliness) - Creating a clean environment for the ongoing tourism activities capable of providing good services for tourists. Hygiene needs to be planted from an early age from childhood to adulthood.
- Cool (coolness) - Creating a comfortable environment for tourism activities that can offer a comfortable atmosphere and a sense of "comfort" for tourists, thus encouraging longer stay and longer visit.
- Beautiful (Beautiful) - Creating a beautiful environment for the ongoing tourism activities that can offer an interesting atmosphere and foster a deep impression for tourists, thus encouraging promotion to the wider market and potential re-visit.
- Friendly (Hospitality) - Creating a friendly environment for the ongoing tourism activities that can offer an intimate atmosphere, friendly as well as in the "own home" for tourists. Hospitality is the flagship of Indonesian people scattered throughout the archipelago.
- Memories - Creates an experience that memorizes the memory when traveling. A good and unique experience will certainly make tourists want to return to Indonesia. Memories of physical goods are also important as souvenirs.
